What is performance?
In the simplest form, performance is about understanding how much your investment has grown or declined over time. Our performance charts track the growth of your portfolio and allows you to highlight any trends and fluctuations.
How do Killik calculate performance?
Killik & Co use the Daily Valuation method to calculate Time-Weighted Return (TWR), geometrically linking our returns. This method, recommended by Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS), eliminates the effect of cash flows which helps ensure accurate investment performance reporting.
What are benchmarks?
Benchmarks are comparator indices used to measure and compare your performance against industry standards; ARC is one such example, where we compare your portfolio performance to that of Killik & Co’s peers.
What are annualised returns?
An annualised return is a measure of how much an investment has increased on average each year during a specific period. The annualized return is calculated as a geometric average to show what the annual return compounded would look like.
What is Net / Gross?
All of Killik & Co’s performance calculations are net of management fees and other charges. Net is where the impact of fees/charges are included in the calculations.
Why are we using a particular index for comparison?
Indices are chosen as a measure of how an investment strategy might have performed over time
What do I do if my performance looks incorrect?
If your performance looks incorrect this could be due to a recent change of service, a cash product being included or a recent transaction being classified incorrectly. If this is the case, please get in touch with your Adviser who will be able to run you a bespoke report.
