The privacy lock is designed with security in mind.
What are the different levels of security in myKillik?
1. Exit the page - for convenience, you will stay logged in without the need to receive and enter a new access code.
2. Use the Privacy Lock - you will stay logged in, but will be able lock your screen from being viewed.
3. Fully log out - you will disconnect from myKillik entirely and need to request and enter a new Access Code to log back in.
What is a Privacy Lock?
The Privacy Lock on myKillik enables you to set up a PIN so that you can manually or have the site automatically lock your account while you are not actively using the website. This enables you to stay logged in, whilst still knowing your account is secure.
How do I set up my Privacy Lock?
Under your name in the top right hand corner, click Privacy Lock option from the drop down list, and you will receive the below message. Click through to the settings to begin setting up the PIN.
Once in Settings you will see the Privacy Lock section. Start by clicking on the switch to turn it on. It will then ask you to enter a 6 digit PIN. Make sure it is something memorable but not too obvious, avoiding sequences such as 123456 or your date of birth. After you have input a 6 digit number it will ask you to confirm the PIN you have chosen.
The Privacy Lock is now active, and a default screen timeout period is set up to lock your screen after 5 minutes of inactivity.
If you would like to change the period of inactivity you have the option to in the drop down bar, ranging from 1 minute to 60.
Now the activity lock has been set up you can now lock your account manually whenever you like, or if you are inactive on the website for the amount of time you have selected, it will automatically lock the screen for you.
To manually lock the screen, you will need to select the "Privacy Lock" feature from the below drop down list under your name.
Below is how your screen will look once locked. Simply input you 6 digit pin to access your account.
If you forget your 6 digit PIN, simply select the Log Out option in the bottom left hand corner. You can then log in and set up a new PIN by repeating the steps above.
